Newport Museum & Art Gallery

The Museum houses fascinating displays depicting local history, the natural sciences and archaeology.

The collections from the Roman town of Caerwent are particularly rich, and the important story of the Chartist uprising of 1839 is well illustrated with relics and documents.

The art gallery presents exhibitions, educational activities and houses collections of historic and contemporary British paintings. Of particular note is the John Wait teapot display and the Fox collection of decorative art. Museum shop and Tourist Information Centre within building.
